Arena Accessibility Guide

Matthew Knight Arena strives to provide a fully accessible environment for all its guests.  Wheelchair accessible and aisle transfer seating are available at various price points and locations, including the main and upper seating bowls, as well as floor level*.  Matthew Knight Arena also offers enhanced accessibility for guests with limited seeing or hearing impairments and for guests who are deaf, hard of hearing or blind.  Accessible seating, assistive listening devices, and printed material in alternative formats are some of the many accessibility features of the Matthew Knight Arena.

If assistance is needed during an event, please visit the Guest Services Booth, located on the main concourse adjacent to the west entrance. If the Guest Services Booth is not open, due to the event configuration, please check with the interior ticket window at the North or East doors.



A-Z ACCESSIBILITY GUIDE

Alternative Format Materials – Athletic schedules, concession menus, maps and other print materials are available in Braille or large print upon request.  Please contact the Matthew Knight Arena Ticket Office in advance by calling 1-800-WEB-FOOT, or visit the Guest Services Booth during an event. If the Guest Services Booth is not open, due to the event configuration, please check with the interior ticket window at the North or East doors.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) – Listening devices are available and can be checked-out at the Guest Services Booth, located on the main concourse adjacent to the west entrance .  These devices are available free of charge with valid identification, such as a driver’s license, deposited as collateral.

Captioning – Captioning is available on the video board during men’s basketball games and during other events as requested. Guests requesting this service should contact the Matthew Knight Arena Ticket Office at 1-800- WEB-FOOT or tickets@uoregon.edu a minimum of 10 days in advance.

Drop-Off & Pickup – A vehicular drop-off and pickup area is located immediately in front of Matthew Knight Arena East Entrace on Villard Street.  All three public entrances into Matthew Knight Arena are fully accessible.  For more information, please contact the Matthew Knight Arena Ticket Office by calling 1-800-WEB-FOOT.   

Elevators – Seven (7) public elevators provide access to all levels of Matthew Knight Arena.  Two are located in the west concourse that access the event, main and upper levels. Two are located in the east concourse that access the main and upper levels.  Two are located in the north concourse that access the main level and the Club rooms on the event level.  One is located in the southeast corner that accesses the event level at the media room.  There is an additional elevator in the garage that is near the northwest exterior of the arena.                                    

Emergency Evacuation Procedures – Should there be an immediate need to evacuate Matthew Knight Arena, guests will be given instructions via the public-address/captioning systems and/or nearby Matthew Knight Arena staff members. 
Guests are encouraged to take the following steps:

  • Be aware of your location in Matthew Knight Arena at all times
  • Identify the two exits located nearest to your seats.
  • Listen, watch for and follow instructions from the public-address systems, video boards, and Matthew Knight Arena staff members
  • Ask for assistance and information from Matthew Knight Arena staff, police, and medical and security personnel. 

First-Aid Assistance – First aid is present at Matthew Knight Arena during all events.  There is a First-Aid Station located on the west-end of the main concourse.  Should you need medical assistance, please notify security personnel or the nearest Matthew Knight Arena staff member, or go to the first-aid station. 

Food, Beverage, & Concessions – All food and beverage concessions in Matthew Knight Arena are wheelchair accessible. Concession stands have pens and paper as well as Braille and large print menus to provide assistance in communicating. 

Guest Services Booth – The Matthew Knight Arena Guest Services Booth is open during all events to assist guests and answer questions.  The Guest Services Booth is located on the main concourse adjacent to the west entrance. If the Guest Services Booth is not open, due to the event configuration, please check with the interior ticket window at the North or East doors.

Parking –Matthew Knight Arena has designated parking spaces available for guests with proper Oregon disabled parking placards. There are a limited number of spots located in the Matthew Knight Arena Parking Garage and additional parking is available on Columbia Street immediately west of Matthew Knight Arena.  Both locations can be accessed from13th Ave.  These spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis so please plan accordingly.  Refer to the Parking Information section of this website (link) for maps, directions and other information.

Public Transportation – Matthew Knight Arena is accessible via the Lane Transit District (LTD) bus service.  Please visit the Lane Transportation District website for more information regarding routes, stop locations, schedules and accessibility.

Restrooms – All restroom facilities in Matthew Knight Arena are fully accessible.  There are nine (9) public restrooms for each gender located throughout the main and upper concourses.  There are also three (3) fully accessible family/unisex restrooms located on the main concourse, one on the upper concourse and one on the event level.Accessible restrooms on the floor level may be accessed via the Mac Club, please see a Matthew Knight Arena staff member for assistance.

Service Animals – Service animals are welcome in Matthew Knight Arena, and will rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability, rather than in the aisle.

Sign Language Interpreting – Interpreting is available for events in the Matthew Knight Arena upon request.

Wheelchair Storage – Wheelchairs and other mobility devices can be stored during all events. Please see a Matthew Knight Arena staff member for assistance.  Our staff will make arrangements to return the wheelchair to you at the end of the event or at any other time you prefer. 

Wheelchair Transfer – Wheelchairs will be available on a first come, first served basis at all gates to transport an individual to their seating area, free of charge. Guests who are interested in this service should ask a security personnel or other Matthew Knight Arena staff member for assistance.  Please note that there may be a wait.
